Chief Executive Officer
Farhad Ahrabi is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cameron LNG, LLC – a joint venture owned by Sempra Energy, Total, Mitsui & Co., Ltd, and Japan LNG Investment, LLC, a joint venture formed by subsidiaries of Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha and Mitsubishi Corporation.
Prior to Cameron LNG, Farhad held numerous senior positions in BG Group during his 29-year career in the company. Since November 2019, Farhad has also joined ARC Resources, a Canadian upstream oil and gas company as an independent Director, and together with other Directors, is responsible for stewardship of the company. Cameron LNG is a $10 billion dollar enterprise, exporting LNG to international markets with an annual revenue of over $1.6 billion dollars. Construction of the three-Train LNG facility was completed in August 2020.
During his tenure since Q3 2014 with Cameron LNG, at the time a startup company, Farhad has orchestrated the creation of a robust enterprise with an inclusive culture, that is focused on delivery of the business in a responsible manner, placing safety above all else. Farhad has a 35 plus year recognized and demonstrable track record of excellence in challenging upstream and mid-stream business ventures in the oil and gas industry in many international locations such as Tunisia, Trinidad & Tobago, Egypt, Brazil, Canada and United Kingdom.
He is a genuine people’s leader with a passion for developing individuals and teams. Farhad holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering in the field of Enhanced Oil Recovery from Exeter University and a First Class Honors degree in Chemical Engineering from University of Wales in United Kingdom. He is a Chartered (Professional) Engineer and a member of Institution of Chemical Engineers.
