Senior Vice President, Operations
Johnny Verplancken is Senior Vice President of Operations for Cameron LNG, LLC.
Johnny oversees all activities relating to the liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant as well as the LNG tanker export/import terminal operations. He joined Cameron LNG in January 2022, and leads the staffing, training and competency, policy, HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environmental), Operations, Maintenance, Engineering and Public Relations organizations. This includes development of the Operating Budget, Corporate Management System, Risk Register, Business Continuity Plan, Emergency Response Plans, Long-term Service Agreements and other site specific operating plans to achieve safe and reliable long-term operation.
Johnny Verplancken has over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry in a variety of engineering, field and plant operations, maintenance, safety & environmental, startup and commissioning assignments in senior leadership and executive level capacities. He brings extensive global experience in a wide range of locations and mix of hydrocarbon production that includes the Yamal region in Russia (Arctic LNG), several African regions (Nigeria, Angola, Republic of Congo – oil and gas, LPG and deep offshore), Bongkot in Thailand (sour gas) and the middle east (Abu Dhabi – Oil & Gas).
Johnny holds an Engineering degree from Edinburgh University in the United Kingdom.
